All The Small Things

In all honesty, I feel like I haven't done much around the house lately worth talking about. Being back to work means my energy is somewhat distracted when it comes to jobs around the house.

Just staying somewhat on top of the laundry is enough, and by that, I mean I get a load in at least once a week. We are currently out of tea towels. I should get on that.

Projects are still happening, but slower and on smaller scales. 
Touch up painting that never seems to end. Patching walls, that again, never seems to end. 
Cleaning, brainstorming, and planning.  

My office space has really come along. It's finally to the point that I can actually use it, and I've been able to create some new art work and creations, which I'm excited about. 
More of that to come... 

I finally got around to painting the top of the shelf in our front entrance. I had painted the bottom and front white but since I am short, I left it at that. Because, you know... out of sight, out of mind. Unfortunately for me, the majority of the world is a few inches taller than me, so it looked half painted and ridiculous to everyone else. It was on the "to do" list for a while, and finally got it done.

I also added a rock garden in the front, which left me with two smashed fingers, but a nicer curb appeal, even though we don't have any mulch yet. It's a work in progress. It always is...

We built a new fire pit, just in time for fall, which I'm super excited about.

So, as much as I haven't written lately and feel like I haven't really accomplished much, in terms of our house, it's really feeling like home. Maybe it's that I appreciate it more, now that I'm not spending 24 hours a day in here. 

 I do love our little home, and more importantly, I love the people in our home! Progression on the house doesn't always happen at the rate I would necessarily like, but I know where my heart is. It's the people in my life that really make a house a home.
