The original recipe from Kids Activities Blog called for conditioner and corn starch, but I modified it and used the corn starch baby powder that I had lying around forever. It was very dusty to make, and I'd probably use a mask next time. Four hours later and I'm still coughing, thus the reason I never used it on my son! While the original recipe called for a 2:1 ratio of corn starch to conditioner, I used: 1 cup of conditioner 2- 1/4 cups of baby powder My first batch came out perfectly. On my second batch, I was a little short of a cup of extra conditioner, so I had to sacrifice some of my new conditioner to get the right consistency. On the bright side, maybe I will finally finish my shampoo and conditioner at the same time now! I have some pros and cons on this recipe, though.
At the end of the day, you can never have too much play dough, and you always have too much conditioner.
That works for me! But I would give it about a 2/5 in the end; it's a little too dense to play with all the contraptions and I would definitely not feel comfortable having a younger child playing with it, with the ingredients being very inedible. What is your favourite play dough recipe? My next play dough recipe I'm going to try is the famous Jello recipe at Modern Parents Messy Kids Happy Play Time! xo Jena
